Slack grows wings and mutates into the operating system of the agentic company proposed by Salesforce


Salesforce today presented Agentforce 360, a new platform that lays the foundations for the agentic company. AND At the center of this transformation is Slack, which has been equipped with new superpowers to become an agentic operating system capable of bringing together real people and AI agents in a conversational workspace. to accelerate not only worker productivity but also to instil greater speed in business growth.

With Slack at their side, real employees will be able to work drawing on all the data, apps and workflows of the companies. And AI agents, conveniently provided with context in their conversations, will be able to work in Slack as an integral part of work teams within companies.

What advances does Slack bring with it?

The news released today by Slack specifically lights the fuse of three advances:

  • Bring a conversational nature to CRM and workflows

Major Salesforce apps (including Agentforce Sales, IT and HR Service, and Tableau Next) will integrate Slack into their respective products. In this way, the structured data from the CRM will be amalgamated with the unstructured and conversational data already present in Slack to create a unified view of customer and data in workflows. And all of this will transform insights housed in static data into live, conversational experiences where people and agents can work together without any friction.

  • Equip employees with personalized AI to drive contextual intelligence

To stay on top of an ever-changing environment and fuel growth, employees must be equipped with truly personalized AI in their daily workflow. And with this goal in mind, Slack launches two great new features: a new Slackbot which acts as an “AI Companion” and is capable when engaging in complex tasks of a conversational nature, y Enterprise Searchwhich relies on natural language questions to extract knowledge from companies and ultimately put that knowledge into practice.

  • Empower a complete ecosystem of agents that connects the entire company as a whole

Aware that no app can handle all tasks alone, the new Slack is built on the foundations of an open and flexible platform. New development capabilities like the Real-Time Search (RTS) API and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enable partners and developers to securely connect third-party apps and AI agents to Slack’s real-time conversational data. This allows companies like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and many others to build custom, context-aware agents that can act directly within Slack.

Thanks to the integration of AI agents in Slack, work teams can, according to Salesforce, make decisions faster, innovate more freely and scale your impact (which would ultimately translate into up to three times more revenue per employee).

For decades Salesforce has been the engine of success for its customers and Slack, which the American multinational acquired in 2021, has been the place where work was ultimately done. Now, At a time when all companies need to move faster, both universes merge. And Slack mutates into Salesforce’s conversational interface, turning every dashboard, every report, and every customer data into the center of the conversations that take place between employees and agents.

The new features in Slack inaugurate a new way of working that is faster, simpler, more connected and more anchored in agents. And to this end, AI agents and Salesforce CRM data will be directly interwoven into Slack conversations. The Slack integration will first debut in Agentforce Sales, Agentforce IT Service, Agentforce HR Service and Tableau, with further integrations to follow.

Salesforce also launches Agentforce Channel Expert todaya new native agent from Agentforce that instantly and directly gives the user “expertise” in any Slack channel. Relying on real-time search and content curation, Agentforce Channel Expert provides fast, reliable answers to common questions, allowing cases to be resolved quickly and freeing up experts’ workloads so they can focus on more strategic tasks.
