Canva has published its report Canva Trends 2025a report that shares the perspectives of over 220 million people using Canva (including content creation specialists, professional profiles and 95% of Fortune 500 companies) about the creative trends that will make a difference both at work and outside of it.
From social media posts that instantly grab users’ attention, to professional presentations and customizable products for print, Each design created in Canva reflects the trends that will define 2025.
For this report, Canva has analyzed millions of searches, favorite elements and popular templates, identifying patterns that point to the most notable trends for the coming year. Among all The trends that were perceived show a common denominatortaking into account that 2025 will be the year in which Nostalgic and handmade designs will merge with the precision of new technologies.
The creative trends of 2025
Between creative trends key to standing out at work, on social networks or in any digital creative field, are the following:
- Lo analog + AI: Among one of the strong trends in 2025, the world of analog and new technologies such as artificial intelligence are expected to merge. This trend is inspired by analog techniques such as collagee, opening a world of possibilities for design in this strong era of AI. This is reflected in the increase in searches for “scrapbook” (cuts) on Canva, having increased 92% since last year.
- Theory of forms: Square shapes seem to be back in fashion, just like the rest of the shapes. The modular style is characterized by use bold shapes to create structure, at the same time that it adds backlit photographs and warm colors that provide a personal touch. In this trend, functionality meets cozy. In this case, the search terms “forms” and “modular” They have grown by 56% and 23% respectively in the last year.
- Minimalist luxury: This trend highlights the luxury lifestyle. It combines a minimalist aesthetic with elaborate details, balanced with a fairly noticeable use of white space. As a result, a design is achieved that manages to convey discreet glamor through striking and harmonious compositions. Regarding searches, the terms “elegant” and “luxury” have increased by 33% and 30% respectively.
- Seriously fun: This style mixes humor with informal elements in surprising ways with the aim of reinventing professional designs. Searching for terms “silly,” “funny,” and “humor” has increased by 92%, 36% and 27% respectively.
- Raw elegance: This trend challenges conventional aesthetics by bringing a simplified approach that encourages unique visual identities and distinctive voices. It is a style that naturally marks its own path. In this case, the terms “innovative”, “bold” and “avant-garde” have increased by 71%, 40% and 23% respectively.
- Mechanical Botany: The fusion between technology and biology comes in a trend that fuses natural and dreamlike textures with the intentional use of gradients and white spaces that are used to achieve harmony. This trend shows that, the terms “techno” and “cyber” have increased by 30% and 32% respectively.
