10 quirky gadgets spotted at IFA 2024 that you’ll (maybe) want to grab
At the IFA 2024 consumer electronics fair, which runs until tomorrow in Berlin, a wide range of gadgets has been on display in recent days. Cutting-edge technology is taking centre stage at Europe’s largest consumer electronics trade fair, which has been a beacon of innovation for 100 years.
1,800 exhibitors and more than 182,000 visitors are the dizzying figures that the fair boasts this year IFA 2024where there has been space, as is usual in this event, for «gadgets» as innovative as they are outlandish. These are some of the most curious ones:
Lenovo Auto Twist Al PC
This laptop comes equipped with an auto-rotating screen. The device relies on AI to track the user’s eye movements and ensure that the content that appears on the screen always has the most optimal visibility.
The computer screen also works with voice commands so that the user can easily experiment with its different modes of use. And it closes automatically when the user is no longer in front of the device.
According to Lenovo, this curious laptop, which is ergonomic in use, boasts of significantly reducing eye fatigue for the user.

ViXion01 Glasses
Made by the Japanese startup ViXion, these glasses boast of being the world’s first autofocal lenses. And because they are equipped with a sensor, they are able to automatically measure the distance between objects and the user’s eyes to ensure that the former are always perfectly focused regardless of whether the person wearing the glasses suffers from presbyopia or myopia.
While they may not be the most stylish glasses in the world, ViXion’s new lenses are incredibly practical.

Yarbo Core is a handy robot capable of taking on up to 20 different maintenance tasksfrom sweeping leaves to removing snow, to mowing the lawn. And not only that. This gadget, which gardening enthusiasts will love, can tow up to 1,500 kilograms of weight.

BeBird
BeBird is a specially designed ear cleaning device that comes equipped with a tiny camera so that the user can closely monitor the process of removing wax lodged in their ear cavities using a mobile application.
The gadget is sold in two different versions: an individual version and a family version with up to four different mouthpieces. Both versions are sold with a wide range of accessories, including a rubber mouthpiece to prevent potential damage to the eardrum.

Vertica (Ohh-Med Medical Ltd)
Vertica is a device designed to help alleviate urological conditions in men, including erectile dysfunction. The gadget works like a sort of electronic collagen facial mask aimed at men’s private parts.
Placed on the area to be treated, Vertica relies on radiofrequency technology to tighten the tunica intima located at the base of the peniswhich is what ultimately helps pump blood in this organ.
This device, which is still pending FDA approval, aims to become a 100% drug-free alternative to improving male sexual health.

Kodak Printomatic Barbie Edition
The hype unleashed last year by the Barbie movie is still at its peak, and that’s why Kodak has decided to present at IFA a Printomatic camera (in pink, of course) dedicated to the greatest glory of the famous Mattel doll.
It’s not a better device than other similar instant-print cameras, but the Barbie brand is very popular, so this gadget will probably delight the most die-hard fans of the famous doll.
Roborock Qrevo Curv / Roborock Qrevo Edge
These small vacuum cleaners may seem like Roomba and other similar devices. However, they have a feature inside them that is a kind of “superpower” – they can climb heights of up to 10 centimetres, which is very useful when the device has to deal with uneven thresholds (very common in older houses) or thick carpets.

EcoFlow Power Hat
This hat is equipped with eight solar panels and two charging ports. The goal? To make it easy for users to charge their devices while walking or hiking, for example. It is an undoubtedly practical gadget, but its price ($80) is perhaps not the most reasonable for what it offers.

LG Puricare is an air purifier specially designed for those homes with cats that also comes with a cute circular seat so that the kitties can play happily.The seat also heats up automatically to provide maximum comfort for felines and detects when the cat is on it to reduce the volume emitted by the air purifier and thus not disturb the animal’s rest.
Besides, LG Puricare weighs even the user’s kitten and alerts you when there are important changes that could be directly related to your health.

This wearable device can be worn on a necklace or as a sort of watch on a wrist. It is a gadget that can act as a simultaneous translator thanks to AI, record voice notes and store data directly related to health, among other things. An external app is able to convert voice messages into Word documents and can also take on many other functions. The device costs around 190 euros.
